Europe’s greatest Genesis Tribute Show is back on tour!

Someone has to imitate that: When Kim Schwarz and Jacob Hansen from “Geneses” deliver their fulminant drum duet, they have a program of over two hours behind them. Two hours with such complex, epic songs as “Dancing with the moonlit knight”, the “Old Medley” or “Abacab”. But also hits like “Mama”, “No Son Of Mine” or “Carpet Crawlers”.
This is exactly what happens when the idols go through such a comprehensive transformation as Genesis did, from complexly arranged progressive rock with singer Peter Gabriel to stadium-worthy rock pop mainstream and Phil Collins at the microphone. Two sides that are the focus of the show of the tribute band Geneses. A bridge between the 70s and 90s with all its facets.

A perfect homage to Genesis

The band takes into account the varied character of the original and convinces with their instrumental class – Kai Hildebrand as first-class guitarist, Bert Böttcher on the keyboards that were as tonal for Genesis as in hardly any other band of their time, Richard Schaeffer on bass, who is celebtrating Mike Rutherford coolness and understatement, the great Kim Schwarz on the drums, supported in typical Genesis manner by Jacob Hansen on the second drum kit and new singer, Jean-Michael Brinksmeier. With the latter it becomes particularly clear: this is not an attempt at a mere copy of the British rock band Genesis. No look-alike, no sound-as-him copy but an emancipated homage by six decorated musicians.

Not to forget a light show that excellently mimics the effect of the songs, about when in “Home By The Sea” a veil of light floats ghostly through the band or, according to the intensity of “Land Of Confusion”, white lightning cuts through the audience.

And then there’s the bonbon at the end that finally breaks all the enthusiasm dams: The drum duet of Schwarz and Hansen, reminiscent of the legendary Wembley concert of 1987 on the “Invisible Touch Tour”, as Phil Collins and Chester Thompson worked on the drums for six minutes, before the whole band reached the finale with an overwhelming „Los Endos“ – to copy that, a hard task indeed.
